Square needles provide a flat surface for your fingers to rest on while knitting, thereby decreasing contact stress. Traditional round needles force your fingers to rest on a smaller, convex-shaped surface area. This tension can result in poor circulation and impaired nerves. Square™ needles can reduce or eliminate contact tension which can significantly reduce pain.
