LoftyFiber | Helping Hands and Raddle for the Ashford Katie Loom
The LoftyFiber Helping Hands and Raddle Kit for the Ashford Katie loom are designed to make warping, beaming, and threading more efficient and enjoyable. Custom-made to fit the Katie, the Helping Hands position your lease sticks exactly where you need them for spreading the warp in the raddle, winding the warp onto the beam, and transitioning smoothly into threading once beaming is complete.
The system is designed to work with the pair of Ashford lease sticks supplied with the Katie loom.
If you already own LoftyFiber raddle sections for another loom, you may be able to reuse two 6-inch raddle sections and caps by adding the Katie-specific clips, available separately. Please note that only the newer LoftyFiber raddle sections featuring the clip groove are compatible with the Katie clips.
For a demonstration of the Helping Hands system in use, the Ashford Table Loom video provides a close example of the setup and workflow, as the process is very similar on the Katie.
The Raddle Kit includes:
- 2 x 6-inch raddle sections
- 2 matching raddle caps
- 1 x 1-inch cap
- 4 short Ashford clips
- 1 purple sleeve
LoftyFiber Helping Hands Ashford Table Looms
This device assists in holding cross sticks in place for beaming and threading using the back-to-front method. The name "helping hands" is not to be confused with the stretch cords made by Ashford for holding the cross sticks in place. This video shows use of the LoftyFiber raddle kit for the Ashford table looms.
How to Install LoftyFiber Helping Hands
This is showing the Helping Hands installation on the David 3 loom - it's very similar on the David 2 and the Spring, Megado and Octado looms.
