Designed for a four-shaft loom, the Jon scarf uses a combination of mercerised cotton and organic cotton in both the warp and weft. The result is a lightweight cotton textile with a lovely woven structure that showcases the interplay between the natural and green shades.
The project uses a 4-shaft 3/1 twill structure, making it a great opportunity to practise treadling and create a fabric with more movement and texture than a simple plain weave.
What You Can Weave
The kit contains enough material to weave one scarf approximately 180 cm long. The prepared specifications call for a warp length of 250 cm and a weaving width of approximately 39 cm.
With its natural and green colour combination, the finished scarf has an understated, versatile look that can be enjoyed as an everyday accessory or given as a thoughtful handmade gift.
