These designs are generally smaller and more portable than floor-based varieties. The term refers to a multi-shaft design and is considered more complex than a rigid heddle. Most tabletop looms offer 4 or 8 shaft options, however higher numbers of shafts are available on some options as well. This makes for a great option for weavers on the hunt for a floor loom.
