The sample is in (MC) Merino in Oatmeal colourway + Soft Silk Mohair in Cream colourway, and Merino + Soft Silk Mohair in Slate Green (CC 1) and Pomegranate (CC 2).
The sweater is knitted seamlessly from the top down in the round using one strand of Merino and one strand of Soft Silk Mohair held together throughout. It begins with a folded ribbed neckband, followed by German short rows to shape the neckline. Increases are then worked across the yoke as the Fair Isle holly pattern is introduced from the chart.
Once the yoke is complete, the sleeve stitches are placed on hold while the body is worked. Additional German short rows are used on each side to shape the body before ribbed edges finish the hem and sleeves. Both the body and sleeve lengths can be easily adjusted to suit your preferred fit.
The Fair Isle colourwork is charted only. The leaves and berries are worked using the same Merino and Soft Silk Mohair combination as the main sweater, but only small amounts of each colour are required:
- Leaves: less than 16 g Merino and 8 g Soft Silk Mohair
