A Ribbed Jumpsuit with a Thoughtful Twist
Olive’s Ribbed Jumpsuit is a beautifully practical all-in-one suit, designed with both comfort and functionality in mind. Featuring a classic 2x2 rib throughout with garter stitch accents and a clever side wrap closure, it’s the perfect layering piece for little ones on the move. The ribbed fabric offers a natural stretch, making the fit flexible and comfortable, while allowing room to grow.
The jumpsuit is worked from the bottom up using one strand of your choice of Knitting for Olive Merino, Cotton Merino, or Pure Silk. The right leg is knitted in the round, while the left leg is worked flat to incorporate buttonholes down one side. Once both legs are complete, they are joined at the crotch and shaped with short rows before continuing seamlessly up to the underarms.
From there, the work is divided into back and front sections and completed flat. Stitches are then picked up at the shoulders for the sleeves, which are worked top-down in the round. Garter stitch details at the cuffs and hem add charm and structure to the otherwise soft, stretchy design.
