Malabrigo | Nova Cowl - Knitting Pattern
A little bit of colour can make a handmade accessory feel truly special, and the Nova Cowl is a wonderful project for letting your creativity take the lead. With its fine, lightweight yarn and generous scope for colour play, this cowl gives you the freedom to create a palette that feels subtle and sophisticated, bright and playful, or completely unexpected.
The pattern is designed for either Malabrigo Sock or Malabrigo Mechita, both fingering-weight yarns made from beautifully soft superwash merino wool. You can choose your own colourway, making the Nova Cowl a great project for experimenting with favourite shades or using up special skeins from your stash. The sample is knitted in Malabrigo Mechita, with one 100 g skein each of 148 Hollyhock (A), 036 Pearl (B), 035 Frank Ochre (C), 999 Paprika (D), 682 Poipu (E) and 005 Aniversario (F).
The six-colour sample shows just how much personality can come from combining different shades, but the beauty of the pattern is that the palette is entirely up to you. Try soft neutrals for a timeless look, jewel tones for a richer look, or a collection of cheerful colours for a more playful finish. It is a creative project that lets you make the cowl feel completely your own.
