Australian Cotton Lace Yarn (≈Ne 8/2) 140g | Ada Fibres

Locally Grown Cotton Lace Yarn

Locally grown Australian cotton that is fully traceable back to the Queensland farm is finally available in Australia. In a collaboration between Ada Fibres and Full Circle Fibres, this range of cotton lace yarn has been ethically sourced with all available manufacturing processes done in Australia.

This laceweight cotton is heirloom quality; the fibres are grown for their length, fineness and strength. The long 32mm fibres have been combed, ring-spun, and plied, resulting in a dense yarn with little loft and abrasion resistance. The cotton is approximately 30% denser than other cotton yarns on the market. It measures 555/100g, is technically a Ne 20/2/3 but is sized as a Ne 8/2 equivalent.

The finish on this yarn shimmers, the light reflects off the long smooth fibres, yet it remains soft like unmercerised cotton. This Australian cotton lace yarn is perfect for handweaving and delicate crochet and knitting pieces.

Available in 140g spools (777m) and 450g cones (2497m) to suit your project needs.

The colour palette will be expanding in early 2022. With your support, we want to expand the range to offer Australian weavers a comprehensive selection of weaving yarns developed on Australian shores.

The Australian cotton yarn range is also available in a sock weight yarn and soon a 20/2 fine weaving yarn.
